Welcome to Christ the King R.C. Primary School.
Welcome to our school, my name is Mrs Morita Metcalfe and I am proud to be head of Christ the King School.
As head teacher of Christ the King R.C. Primary School, I extend a very warm welcome to you, I hope that for you and your child this will be the beginning of a long, happy experience.
Long known for its high achievements, due to work of our dedicated teachers and staff, our pupils achieve a high level of academic excellence. It is my intention to build an enormous capacity for excellence and to improve our academic programme by enhancing the curriculum through creativity. As head teacher of Christ the King, I intend to work closely with the members of the Christ the King community to expand and enhance the educational opportunities that our wonderful school offers.
As a parent, I know you wish for your child to be safe, receive a good education, gain a sense of responsibility and demonstrate spiritual growth. In order to enhance each child’s personal and academic growth, I ask tat parents be involved on a daily basis. Whether it’s checking your child’s homework, talking with teachers, coming to school social events, attending celebratory events or joining the 200 club or PTFA – The more you show your child you care, the more positive their primary school experience will be.
Therefore, in partnership with you, the strong links between the school, the Paris and home will be maintained and valued.
Christ the King School is a wonderful school and has a lot of positivity. This is continually being reinforced by our school motto – Christ be our light and our guide. Christ the King will strive to help your child reach their full potential and be happy whilst achieving it.

Consultation – Academy Status
Many of you will be aware that our school is eligible to apply to convert to academy status. Over the last twelve months the Head Teacher and Governing Body have been exploring what Academy status might mean for our school, and we would now like to hear the views of our pupils, parents, staff, parish and our wider community.
We are therefore commencing formal consultation today, Monday 2nd February 2015 for a period of four weeks. Consultation will end at 5pm on Friday 27th February 2015.
You can read more about becoming an academy and give your views by viewing the “Consultation – Academy Status” letter on the letters page under the parents tab.Read more
